Format: The competition is a simulation of a case in front of the International Court of Justice, which focuses on legal disputes pertaining to space activities. Students have the possibility to plead in front of some of the most established professors and practitioners in the field, representatives of ESA and the IISL. The Finals of the competition are judged by sitting ICJ judges! The competition includes written and oral proceedings solely in English.

Participants:  The competition has regional/continental rounds and the finals take place in the framework of the International Astronautical Congress.

Bulgaria and the competition: Bulgaria participates in the competition for the first time in 2018. The team from Sofia University performed incredibly well and made it to the final of the regional round and won the award for best written submissions. Svetlozara Stoyanova from SU won the award for best pleader.

Requirements for participants: Be enrolled as a bachelor or master student at the Law Faculty of the university. Excellent English language skills.
